Rdelacote
rdelacote is a photographer who captures the darkness and solitude of the human soul,
where shadow meets light.
His images are imbued with a heavy and enigmatic atmosphere, where chaos and fragility intertwine.
After falling in love with the medium as a teenager, I discovered it by browsing through the various magazines my father, an enlightened amateur, bought.
Considering my approach as "dreamlike, sensitive, and emotional," I perceive the image as a way to express my thoughts,
to communicate with the world directly.
Inspired by other photographers, as well as by literature and music, I build a visual diary that I continually expand.
I do not compartmentalize either subjects or practices. I try to translate sensory punctums day by day.
And sometimes, accumulation becomes a series.
From my wanderings of the mind emerge dark worlds with striking evocative power.
Monochrome universes, where faces are veiled, bodies become blurred, traces leave etchings on space,
to better distort reality and – in the process – transcend it.

In black and white...
By disorienting the viewer, Delacote draws them into a world of continuous balance and into that interval that articulates the flow of daily events. He captures moments that exist only to punctuate human drama, in order to clarify our existence and find poetic meaning in everyday life.
